Reporting an error

If a calculation looks wrong, please include as much of the following as you can. It makes the difference between a guess and a fix.

• The page URL and the calculator you were using.
• The exact values you entered.
• The result you got and the result you expected.
• A source for the correct figure, if you have one, such as an IRS publication, a state revenue department page, or a lender disclosure.

Suggesting a calculator

Suggestions for new calculators are welcome. The most useful ones describe a specific decision with numbers attached, not just a topic, but the question you were trying to answer when you went looking for the tool.

This site does not provide financial, tax, legal or investment advice, and cannot review your personal situation. Questions about your own tax return are best directed to a CPA or enrolled agent; questions about a specific loan offer are best directed to the lender or a HUD-approved housing counselor.
